Just catching up

Well, alot has happened since I last wrote. I got a job, I went back to school, Mike has been looking for a job, going on interviews...etc. Let me start by telling you about Mike.

I went to work my first day and saw a notice about someone coming in to talk about the White House, Air Force One and the FBI.. I talked to a friend at work and said that Mike used to fly on Air Force One and he likes to talk maybe I should tell whomever is in charge of the program. She agreed and gave me her name. I got Mike to go in and talk to her. She was thrilled to met him and wanted him to come in to talk. Mike went in and met the lady doing the program on the White House and Air Force One. She was just showing a movie. So the lady from my job asked Mike to come back in April and give a talk of his own. They even want to pay him for his time. I just thought Mike would like to get out of the house and give the talk. I never thought they would pay him. He was told that he could go around to the other facilities and give talks and get paid to do them all. I was surprised and so was Mike. Not sure how we will get that in motion but we will. Right now the job market stinks. Although he makes calls daily and fills out applications almost daily he hasn't found anything. He even applied at Kirkland (where I work) for the chef position that is open. Kirkland has a five stars restaurant in it. You never know where God will lead. He had an interview set up for the Sands Casino as a cook as well but he had to cancel it. Mike's father passed away suddenly on March 9. We had to get to Buffalo and although he went in the morning, hoping they would see him at that time instead of 4:30 they couldn't. They were very understanding and have rescheduled him for April. Mike's father lived a very good life. He was 9 days shy of turning 79. I know he will be missed by everyone he knew. He was alot like another friend that passed away last year, Gene. You met as strangers but walked away as friends. Wouldn't it be great if the world was made up of people like that? He was very close to Ryan. Ryan was very matter of fact telling me that grandpa is in heaven with Jesus and that he would see him again. Oh to have that simple faith! When we were at the viewings and the funeral Ryan held my hand the WHOLE TIME. Most of the time he holds it for a second then lets go. Not then. He even grabbed Grandma's hand when she sat down next to him and held hers for a while. Although it was a sad reason I was very happy to be there for him. Sarah and Noah didn't really believe it until they saw their Grandpa in the casket. Sarah cried for a while and Noah did too. Sarah kept going up to her grandfather and talking to him. It reminded me of when Great Grandpa passed away. She wasn't scared or spooked out. She just had a few things she needed to tell them. Mike is doing okay. Grief comes and goes. It hurts and then the laughter comes. remembering the times that his dad made him laugh or when Mike knew his father was proud of him is really helping him get through these tough days.

Sarah is doing just fine. her birthday is tom. She is turning 14. What a little lady she is becoming. I have no idea what she wants for her birthday except fake uggs. Which I can't get until next winter. So I have no idea what to get her. Hopefully I will dream of something to get her during whatever sleep I get before coming back in to work this afternoon at 3. I am sure she will be happy with anything as long as her day is remembered. So for all of you reading send her birthday wishes!
Noah is doing fine as well. He is really starting to like the piano. He wakes me up playing it first thing in the morning. All I can say is at least he is practicing. Even if he wakes the house. I have to say he is getting better and better.
Well It is now 4:35 in the am and things will start to get a little busy in a few minutes. So I will sign off.

Alot has happened in the last two months. First let me start with Sarah and her DEBUT singing. She is in a class where they learn from music and they put show on. She loves singing (I have no idea where she got that just kidding). I knew she could sing but I didn't really know she could really sing. I was sitting in the audience that first night of the show all proud but when she got up to sing the last song of the night I was BLOWN AWAY! She had me speechless. I hope she makes you speechless as well. This class is really a nice class. She has alot of friends in the class. I have been given glances into the woman Sarah is becoming and it takes my breath away. Wow is all I can say! It doesn't look like the video is going to work tonight so I will have to do it tom. after I get home from work. Wish it would save! I was going to put up one of Noah as well but I guess I will have to do it tom as well. He got to sing at Church with the Adult choir. He sang Away in a Manger verses 1 ...

How can my heart hurt anymore? What do I have to learn to stop the heart ache?

How can we say goodbye to someone that means the world to you? How do you let them go? The pain and hurt that we feel is so unreal. Grandma left this earth November 17, 2019. 9 months, and 15 days after Mom left.  Two women that helped to mold me into who I am today, left me.  They are no longer here to ask questions of, or laugh with, learn of the past from. They left. The pain of losing them will never leave me.  How could it?! They taught me to be the women I am today.  Grandma was someone who always excepted me. Always showed me how to love others. Listen to others.  Care for others.  Really, just to be there for others when I am needed.  The pain I feel is indescribable.  I have never had my heart broken like this before.  Never had to face anything so hard.  You see, I was so Blessed when it came to losing people I loved.  The first person I loved, that I remember losing, was my Grandfather, George. G randad was someone ...

Happy 4th of July!

Okay so today is the 4th of July and I was looking for a cool picture of a flag to put on my blog. I really didn't see on I liked. But I found this picture of the sky I took when we went to Maryland to visit Aunt Betty a few years ago. I think the sky may have looked like this on that morning Francis Scott Key wrote the National Anthem. Today is a great day for this country. I am very proud of the service men and women that have served our country. Willingly giving up a part of their lives for us. Sometimes giving up their lives for freedom. So Thank you one and all. Sometimes saying thank you just doesn't seem enough. Sometimes it is more than enough. So if you see someone in uniform just say thanks. You might just be surprised by the reaction of the service man/woman. I remember riding by the Armory a few years ago and their was a group of protesters on front of the armory. They were screaming at the men in uniform. I was angry and I could tell Mike was as well. He wanted to ...
